12/28/2006Billy Menkins registered the first hat trick of the season as the Burke varsity rolled to a 7-1 victory over Essex in the opening round of the Skyland's tournament. Tommy Farr continued his torrid scoring pace with two goals while Greg Brushett and Billy Beysel rounded out the scoring with one goal each.
Goaltenders Dane Wakefield and Mike Beck combined efforts to register 23 saves in the win.
The Eagles will continue their holiday road trip with a Friday game vs Iona Prep and on Saturday play in the finals of the Skyland tournament.
